No one talks about the edit button but I see you all using it. How quickly we take things for granted. πŸ˜ƒ

@noondlyt The history being maintained helps.

I was used to just rewriting the post, so I liked the delete and re-draft feature a lot more.

For typos and bad grammar, the edit is a big time-saver.

@noondlyt

It took a minute for me to stop the post/spot an error/delete thing. It's like a new discovery every time I think to use it.

@noondlyt I love it! I always find errors when someone likes a post. πŸ˜‚

Mori

@noondlyt I switched apps to be able to use the edit button and never looked back.

@noondlyt Editing is critical. I think/type too fast sometimes and leave whole words out.

Even try threatening the hands out loud and they just don't seem to care.

@noondlyt That was already in mstdn.social when I first signed up last year. (I’ve since moved to its start-up sibling masto.ai.) It was a release-candidate feature at the time.

@chemoelectric
Yes. It was here when I arrived last year. It is one of the top features that the twitter public had been asking for. It should be appreciated regularly.

@noondlyt We should thank @stux for running release candidates while others were cautious! LOL. :)

@noondlyt @stux (Of course, one would expect that on a site with as many emojos as there are asteroids in the asteroid belt.)

@noondlyt Lauren, Lauren, Lauren: the first rule of "Edit Button" is...

@noondlyt I'll be honest, I was against an edit button in the "other place", but I do make use of it here.

No shame at all in that

LAUREN

@sortius It is a good thing, and I have no issues with how transparent it is to see the edit.

sortius

@noondlyt yeh, the way the edit is presented to boosters is great. Without it, I don't think I'd edit, and I'd be ultra-careful who I boost

Tim Richards

@noondlyt @mori Yes I LOVE the edit button. It's the best.

@noondlyt The best thing about the edit button for my money is that not only can you correct a mistake in your post, but you can also correct a mistake or omission in your ALT, including not providing ALT in the first place.

@noondlyt Also, as a voice input user, I appreciate the ability to go back & correct transcription errors I did not catch when my screenreader initially echoed the content back to me, but I was already thinking of how I wanted to phrase the next thing I wanted to dictate.

@PaulNakatim The simple things are often the best.
