@noondlyt The history being maintained helps. I was used to just rewriting the post, so I liked the delete and re-draft feature a lot more. For typos and bad grammar, the edit is a big time-saver.

It took a minute for me to stop the post/spot an error/delete thing. It's like a new discovery every time I think to use it.

@mentallyalex sigh. I do the same thing. Have edited several posts as a result.

@noondlyt That was already in mstdn.social when I first signed up last year. (Iβve since moved to its start-up sibling masto.ai.) It was a release-candidate feature at the time.

@noondlyt The best thing about the edit button for my money is that not only can you correct a mistake in your post, but you can also correct a mistake or omission in your ALT, including not providing ALT in the first place.

@noondlyt Also, as a voice input user, I appreciate the ability to go back & correct transcription errors I did not catch when my screenreader initially echoed the content back to me, but I was already thinking of how I wanted to phrase the next thing I wanted to dictate. |
@noondlyt canβt live without it
