TIL about subsurface-divelog.org/.
It's an open-source dive log application that just works as you expect, and comes with all the features that a diver could need. It also has builds for mobile platforms, and a comprehensive list of compatible hardware: subsurface.github.io/Supported

Before, I used eDiverLog (suggested by Oceanic for their dive computers), but it runs on .NET and has some compatibility issues with Wine, not to mention it pushes its own cloud service.

Interestingly, @torvalds contributed 340,000 lines of code. It turns out that any software approved by Linus works perfectly for me :)

@rayslava @torvalds There’s a couple of bugs (I can’t open the dive statistics on my desktop, instant segfault) and UX annoyances, however it is beyond any other divelog software package I’ve used before. I used to only use paper dive logs due to the electronic logs being so bad, but one day with subsurface made me instantly abandon my old ways. The DC compatibility is amazing, the extra data it extracts, and the cloud sync all make it a must have.
