 @J12t you kind of did see it coming -- it's an example of the asymmetry you talked about. @tchambers this highlights the challenge with your "we'll just build a better product" approach. They'll have a bunch of proprietary functionality they won't allow third-party apps to use -- including directly communicating with IG users not on P92, and I'm sure a lot more. Also a lot more resources. And they can change the rules whenever they want. It's not a level playing field.  @J12t Not sure that was as shocker of a feature. They will do the same from IG into Threads. Will be *very* curious if they allow the reverse to Mastodon. One would expect not...but they do offer IG account data export now.
