HandBrakeCLI is also magical. Re-encode a whole DVD from folder to mpeg4 in one for loop. 👍

@nixCraft given how often I end up googling something like "ffmpeg mkv to mp4 color profile discord Twitter" and copy paste the first result I find on stack exchange, they should really just bake that into ffmpeg as an automated feature

@nixCraft I feel ya. ffmpeg is so superior that a surprising amount of commercial video transcoding products use it as their base, and makers of transcoding hardware even feel forced to contribute to it b/c it's so ubiquitous. Despite all that the documentation and codebase are not always very... intuitive!

(I would've put that whole `filter_complex` line in a filter script though, at some point they become too big to be put on a single command-line!)

@nixCraft i love using ffmpeg to convert a game audio track with 4 mono channels to a stereo channel track dropping the last 2 channels
