Gregory's ServerWhat's the verdict on Wickr? I only ever hear about it in memes about drug dealers. It seems to have funding from the CIA (tor does too right?) but it doesn't require phone numbers, which maybe weighs up for that. Is it a viable option to Signal?

apparently the free version is removed at the end of this year, so i guess that solves that

@powersource signal is working on usernames. Unclear when it’s being released, but there is GitHub activity indicating that it is work that’s very much ongoing. I think initial plans were for this spring, but I guess we should see it in the coming months.
