@fsf I had to hack my old kindle to use it the way I wanted, and wound up selling it in favor of reading books made out of paper. This attitude toward technology is why I'll never buy a Fire tablet.

Not that other vendors don't exhibit variations on the same attitude, but an Android tablet that locks you out of the broader Android ecosystem is especially egregious.

We don't buy Apple in my house either.

@fsf yeah, but breaking in and installIng Fdroid is half the fun of owning a Kindle!
