@FediThing some more from docs: anything older than mastodon 3.0, less functional (ok who's actually running pre-3.0 mastodon)

i haven't had a case of obvious breaking (or whatever breaking means), gotosocial seems to work (i have a test instance currently running and it got my recent post).

i don't seem to be getting new posts from @lina, last post i got was https://vt.social/@lina/110551925917579972 which was probably during the time i had authorized fetch disabled.

while authorized fetch is disabled, there is a case where posts were federated to instances i have defederated from: https://micro.jacksonchen666.com/@jacksonchen666/110560983957751639

Yeah, that's why I am considering activating it. I don't feel comfortable having my posts on instances that I've blocked. The Meta/Facebook situation has made this more urgent.

(I know they could get round this by scraping and using proxy servers, but them bothering to do so would show what kind of people run them, which in itself would be interesting.)

(These posts federated fine here but I don't know why you wouldn't get mine...)

@lina no idea what's happening, explicitly putting links into search does get posts, but following users doesn't get posts... (i did get your post but that's about it)

From what I understand GoToSocial forces signed fetches, so it is compatible with authorized fetch on Mastodon. Meanwhile Lemmy can't handle it, if this matters to you.
