@gamingonlinux yup because it is running a form of Linux from its factory configuration... Dumbest comments, sorry you have to deal with these folks.

PiTau

@gamingonlinux dropping this for your future usage, in case YT would ever allow GIFs in comments

@gamingonlinux I don’t... not’ want you to cover the ally but I don’t think they read the Linux part of your screen name

@gamingonlinux
Would be a funny April fool's prank to cover the ROG after you've installed Linux on it.

@gamingonlinux Yep, Youtube's comments are among the worst on the Internet, except when it comes to some of the more serious "how to" videos that are pretty dry.

The less likely that entertainment chasing types are to show up, the better the comments are.

@gamingonlinux Turning on YouTube restricted mode hides all comments and doesn't really affect much else.

@gamingonlinux I tried running Linux on mine. Unfortunately it does not boot from microSD so you can't install an OS to the card. I booted it from USB instead and WiFi doesn't currently work. I want to eventually get a bigger SSD to put Linux on but I'm not done with my reverse engineering on the Windows side yet. Other than WiFi, the rest of the hardware seems well supported at least.

@gamingonlinux It would be interesting to see a video on making the ROG Ally as close to a Steam Deck as possible and then compare the game performance in Linux.

Otherwise, I was kind of disappointed the ROG Ally decided to go with Windows instead of adding to the Linux gaming ecosystem.
