@josh@fakenewsdaddy.com @obtener@mastodon.world @obtener @breadandcircuses Unfortunately, he didn't really say it. It's a good quote tho. π @breadandcircuses @obtener Yea, it's a darn good quote! I think the page mentions that it originally came from the Tweets from God account on twitter. @obtener @SueInRockville @obtener Phobia means a an exaggerated or illogical fear, or an aversion to something. It doesn't necessarily mean "scared" in the horror movie sense of being frightened of something. Fear responses take many forms such as resistance, hatred, violence, intolerance, denial, irrationality, abandonment, etc. @obtener actually my - very elderly - parents are. My mother (sixties feminist) thinks it's a male sexist plot to get rid of women, and my father (fifties frat rat) thinks they all might rape him. Ignorance bred fear and cultural lies weren't discredited by experience cos it stayed secret when illegal @obtener is there a flag for homophobia, a different flag for transphobia? The phobia is their own fear of being human. @obtener I wonder if people who are a) writing about the phenomenon could start using your terminology instead of theirs ? It would make things more clear, but would the A$$HOLES be willing to accept the new terminology, or insist on the old? or would they just start shooting people to "solve the problem" ? I like that quote. @obtener |
@obtener @RiversideBryan Love the message, but for the record, Morgan Freeman never actually said that. If I remember correctly it was a parody account βTweets from Godβ where this was originally attributed.
