Honestly... I reviewed the word worship, and by strict definition, he's right in that the meaning is tied to god(s) or deity. The problem, though, is that I think the meaning is not necessarily that strict now. Calling things, real or not god(s), is a dualistic construct whereby one relies more on a lack of understanding or faith rather than the metaphorical storytelling it is.

Look, if you want to say that you have positive feelings towards nature or whatever, I’ve got no problem with that. In fact, I share some of these feelings.
Where I draw the line is at worship, which requires us to personify non-persons, and to raise them above us.
I don’t worship anyone or anything, no matter how positive my feelings towards them are. Sorry, not sorry.
