Silicon bugs be like... The worst-case scenario is when the datasheet is public but the chip bug errata is only explained in an NDAed document. #electronics

"This is your product's latest datasheet, correct?"
"Yup."
"And it says it has feature X?"
"Yup."
"If that's the case, I can use this feature."
"That makes sense to me."
"So why won't it work?"
"Our errata says that feature is actually broken."
