That said, I think as it stands, the protocol is fairly obsolete, and the network is due for redesign, mainly around Nomadic Identity, Migration, ObjectCapabilitiy architecture and Greylists to keep scumbag instances away.

In some of those fields, the Fediverse is starting to get beat by its new rivals.

I think, this task has to warrant a new iteration of SocialWG inside of W3C.
