FInally binged Gurren Lagann after having it laying around for all those years. This has to be the best anime ever made at Gainax. The animation is damn good for TV. The plot itself is, without giving too much away, is in nature mythological and brings the MC from humblest beginning to the ridiculous dick cheese usually reserved for Pagan God. To top that off, it shows a complete heroes journey. Let's not forget on one of the strengths of the Mecha genra: The ability to put an entire ensemble of people into middle of the action.
