Today I learned Lunar Capital existed in traditional Japanese fairy tales before touhou... I always knew the whole Kaguya thing and story of Imperishable Night is based on "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter", but I always assumed Lunar Capital is something that ZUN added for fun himself, because to me it feels a bit off. Interesting, I better read some more about it :kaguyawhat:

@MrClon yes, but not in the large ass CAPITAL on the Moon! Yes, the Moon thing is very present in these fairy tales, but the fact they have a whole damn city there somewhat slipped my attention. that's hella cool :nom:

@MrClon in japanese version princess kaguya ( :gyate_kaguya_mad: ) gifted the potion to the earth japanese emperor who had proposed to her. but he refused to drink it because he couldn't stand living without her
