@ariadne Not only is asking for donations not against their code of conduct, but the administrators of sfba.social have an Open Collective page for receiving community donations. Not just illogical, but hypocritical.

@corbin @ariadne Don't assume a report received from a server is representative of the server's staff. Users choose whether their reports forward to another server, not the administrators.

Whining about panhandling is VERY on brand for San Francisco, but the sfba mods are not the bad guys here.

@ariadne @castironflower @Elizafox Hi! SFBA mod here. I’m always happy to answer questions - either about reports or disputes that arise with our users!

We resolved this report with no interventions, and we have been in contact with the reporting user to let them know we don’t have a policy against donation requests, mutal aide, or anything of the sort.

@ariadne @castironflower @Elizafox No, we are unwilling to do that. I can understand your desire to limit them, however reporters do so in confidence. We always want our users to be comfortable sending a report to us without fear of retaliation. Sharing their information with you would break this trust.

If this becomes a regular problem, we will work with or limit the user.
