@cstross @saramg Yes, metric, BUT The REAL issue is that our states are actually allowed to redefine scientific measurements & facts in law and make up BS things like FL ounces.

Even if we *did* switch to metric it'd still be entirely plausible to discover that FL had decreed the Florida Meter (FLm) as a measurement equal to 1yd ("close enough and consistent with history" ) 🤦‍♀️
