Gregory's ServerWords cannot express how much I hate macOS' post-Big Sur notifications changes. Every day they annoy and frustrate me. For the love of god, just give us permanent buttons! They're not evil!

@antonyjohnston It’s so bad, I basically have stopped paying attention to notifications on desktop at all. I hope the next version fixes this. 🤞 @yatil I wish I had that option, but time-based notifications are important to my workflow :(  @antonyjohnston @siracusa I think they effectively killed macOS notifications with that redesign. Also make these notifications less stupidly wide, while we’re at it. @antonyjohnston @siracusa The inane mouse wiggle incantations I need to do to make the buttons appear at all infuriate me every time. @antonyjohnston @siracusa What vintage Mac do I need to sacrifice for buttons? A bondi blue iMac? A Macintosh Classic? A 20th Anniversary Mac? Maybe get weird and do a first generation iPod? @antonyjohnston @vwampage @siracusa Haha sounds like the nightmare that was Windows 8 when you had to do all sorts of intrinsic mouse moves to get the start menu to appear (or something like that. It's been a while.) @antonyjohnston They know how hated and difficult this design is. For years. Yet they’ve done nothing.  @antonyjohnston And with all this iCloud stuff everywhere, how come I’m still seeing all these same notifications on my iPhone & iPad that I’ve dismissed on macOS? @antonyjohnston oh yes. They have gotten worse. I also miss the full width title bar in windows. Big Sur ones make me feel like I am sitting off center from the screen. Annoying!  |
