not all of these twitter alternatives can survive but I'm definitely getting the feeling that the future of social and microblogging is way more like discord (a million different rooms) than everyone piling into one giant cavernous echo chamber, as in the past granted, the giant cavernous echo chamber will still exist, in some form or another... |
whereas Mastodon definitely seems like something weirder and newer and different
