We also hold a programme of events, with a blend of in-person and online events. Upcoming highlights include a menstrual pad-making workshop; our beloved BAJINGO BINGO; and our regular virtual book club, Cliterature https://www.vaginamuseum.co.uk/events/eventscalendar The Vagina Museum is free admission. We also make many resources available for free online. You can view our previous exhibitions for free on our website. Our podcast is free to listen to. We have downloadable learning resources available for free for you to use. You can find it all here. https://www.vaginamuseum.co.uk/ We also undertake educational work in the digital world. We use social media to spread vagina knowledge to the world, like we're doing here. What we post is sometimes tied in with our exhibition and programme content, and sometimes broader content looking at vaginas, vulvas and the gynaecological anatomy through a lens of science, art, history or culture. So not everything you'll see us posting will be found within the walls of the Vagina Museum. We post a lot of public domain and creative commons-licensed art, for example, with the aim of starting conversations and looking at depictions of vulvas in the past. We provide most of our services free of charge, because we strongly believe that knowledge of the most misunderstood and stigmatised part of the body should be available for everyone to access. We believe in breaking taboos and replacing shame and stigma with the truth. While we're on the topic of our values, we are trans inclusive, non-binary inclusive, sex worker inclusive and unabashedly feminist. These values are not up for debate. How do we manage to fund all of this free stuff? The vast majority of our income is self-funded. We are supported by generous people who share our vision and values, and choose to make a donation. Any donation of any size makes a huge difference to a small and new museum. We also have a membership programme: the Cliterati. https://www.vaginamuseum.co.uk/support We are also supported by income from our events programme, and our gift shop, both on-site and online. You might like our gift shop. Let us show you our spread. https://vaginamuseumshop.co.uk/ So that's who we are. We hope this is the start of a beautiful relationship with the fediverse. |
Within our museum space, we have two exhibitions: our permanent exhibition "From A to V", which explores anatomy, health, activism and vulva diversity (including a vulva diversity wall!), and our temporary exhibition "Periods: A Brief History" which is a trip through time exploring menstrual taboos and practicalities through the ages. https://www.vaginamuseum.co.uk/exhibitions
