@fsf A comment on Free Software Supporter -- Issue 180, April 2023. Two issues with the line 'Note: While Signal itself has nonfree dependencies, there is a fully free fork of Signal called "Silence" available in F-Droid.'. Silence defines itself as 'Encrypted SMS/MMS conversations made easy!' whilst signal has abandoned precisely the SMS space. Secondly, the last update of Silence is from 2019-08-29 (see also git.silence.dev/Silence/Silenc). So calling Silence 'a fully free fork of Signal' is not very accurate. Sadly.
