What would you think about an eMail provider that blocks all unencrypted eMails with no exceptions whatsoever?

If you don't use eMail encryption always: Why don't you use eMail encryption?

@kkarhan I selfhost on an own box and also on some rented VM (for others). So both is not for "free", there are costs for hardware, electricity, internet...

@frank *nodds in agreeement* I think that outsorcing eMail to GAFAMs is like using their "Cloud" and other services:

@kkarhan the reason that I wanted to host my own mail server on my own hardware in 2007 (a VIA EPIA C3 back then) for fun indirectly led to the machine that hosts this mastodon instance now ;)

@kkarhan for my personal e-mail, I use ProtonMail It does the encryption for me (although I used to do it myself), and the bottom paid tier is what I'd expect to pay for ad-free e-mail While IANAL, I have a personal legal theory that prevents me from self-hosting, rather than tech limitations. But it borders on a conspiracy theory, so I don't know if it's worth spreading |
How much are you able and willing to pay for a good eMail service
