…Bare ruin'd choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou see'st the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west,
Which by and by black night doth take away…

~ From Shakespeare’s Sonnet 73

@terrygrundy — To lie in that sunlit grass, with a contented sigh, if only for the eight minutes the sunlight lasts.

@breitensteinart True. Here, at Vaux-de-Cernay Abbey, after the eight minutes of sunset have passed and the grass becomes to dewy to lie upon, you will soon be able to retreat for a good night’s sleep in the nearby luxury hotel in the ancient monastery building. It was sensitively restored by Charlotte de Rothschild in the 1880’s. Evidently, the hotel will reopen later this year and I suppose it will be rather special, if a bit over the top (abbayedesvauxdecernay.com).

@terrygrundy — My goodness, how could it not be? I'll keep an eye on the opening, it's little more than 5 hours by car, and I'm curious...
