What do you mean by “nazis”? How do you define this term?
I’m just curious, because, you know, russians call us (Ukrainians) nazis. So, I wonder what do you mean by this term?

@vita_brevis I think most people have a very similar understanding of what a nazi is, and it usually includes wanting to commit genocide against minority, advocating for fascism, etc. A bunch of orcs with a persecution complex aren't really worth considering tbh. They use the label "nazi" because of the association; if the association wasn't there, they'd use a different propaganda tactic. @darkwiiplayer @vita_brevis Is the government of China Nazis? No they are communist yet the are committed to the genocide of the Ugher minority. @nebov The government of china is many things, but one thing they're definitely not is communist. @vita_brevis @MostlyHarmless @vita_brevis @MostlyHarmless THis is why I tend not to use "Nazi" - it has turned into something almost meaningless. Something that it is easy to make mean all sorts of things. I tend to use Fascist instead. Less (but still not zero) ambiguity. I do a good percentage of friends who are Fascists. A very good, round number. Aquaintences who are fascist-curious possible. They are not friends. They will never be friends. "That, in its essence, is Fascism — ownership of Government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power." ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt You gotta remember that Nazis love to call other people Nazis, to obfuscate the fact that they are Nazis. Really, we should be calling them Fascist, but Nazis were so amazingly fascist that we think of them first. Putin is a goddamned fascist. He calls Ukraine "Nazi" to justify the war, but he knows damn well that he is the aggressor. |
