Shader building for The Last of Us on Steam Deck looks like it takes at least 1 hour on the main menu.

@gamingonlinux
... I guess I'll wait a couple of days before purchasing it again.

@gamingonlinux And here I thought Horizon Zero Dawn took a while.

@gamingonlinux Still better than constant stutter while playing 😊.

@gamingonlinux This is inconvenient and unfortunate for sure but I'll take waiting an hour for complete shader comp over shader stuttering *any day* and hope more developers would offer this as an option should an engine threaten to cause caching issues like stuttering

I do remember there being a somewhat similar issue with both the original PS3 version of The Last of Us and Uncharted 4 on my PS4 even though they are single spec, I think the Naughty Dog engines are just "like that" in general.

@killyourfm Yeah, really not acceptable, and still performs badly when shaders are 100% and can crash repeatedly

@gamingonlinux Yep, took 36 minutes on a Desktop with Ryzen 5900X...

@gamingonlinux That's painful. And reminds me how long it was waiting 5 minutes for a game to load from a cassette tape when I was a kid!
