One of me Steam Decks is doing that thing were it just won't stay asleep...or shutdown. Keeps loading back up. Quite frustrating.

@gamingonlinux I am not entirely sure how to verify this but could this be a problem with the power button?

@gamingonlinux had the same issue yesterday. Only thing that worked was shutting it down through the menu on the second try.

@gamingonlinux I once encountered my Deck not staying asleep (I would hit the power button, the display would go black but the backlight didn't turn off, then the screen would come back), and after checking out htop, it turned out it was running TRIM on the SSD and SD card.

I'm not sure that's what you're encountering though.

@gamingonlinux I have that problem, my gaming machine won't let me stop gaming!😂

@gamingonlinux Mine recently broke, where for some reason it couldn't use both the "GPU" and "CPU" at the same time.
If one was at max speed, the other throttled down to a few hundred mHz.
Thankfully the RMA process is amazing, and I had a new one in my hands 5 days after I sent the original one in.
And that was from Denmark!

@gamingonlinux I've encountered it a few times. Try holding the power button for some time, 10-20 seconds. A little longer than it takes to hard poweroff. I guess that's an even harder poweroff.

@gamingonlinux How many do you have at this point? And more importantly - have you tried standing up a k8s cluster out of them? :)

@gamingonlinux
I ran into this and searched everywhere for a solution. No joke, I saw a random comment from someone on Reddit saying to remove the MicroSD card and then reinsert it. I did that and the problem went away. I don't know exactly what loop the SteamDeck got into involving the MicroSD card, but doing that got it to stop. SteamDeck sleeps and shutsdown fine now.
