smol, desu ne?

@Natureshadow @kde That's amazing, never knew about this. The Plasma Wayland improvements are truly mind blowing...

(ps: hold control + super and scroll in. that's another off-menu one I learned recently)

@smoldesu Interesting! That’s the Kwin Zoom module? On X.org, I have to set this up via xbindkeys.

@frumble Not quite sure what it is, afaik it's an undocumented hush-hush feature that got added in sometime post 5.27.

Maybe we'll get a little UI to go with it in KDE 6? I can dream, can't I?

@smoldesu Ah, that means it’s something different. What does this key combo do? I thought "scroll in" would mean to zoom in.

smol, desu ne?

@frumble Ohhh, yes it's a zoom of some kind. It's got cursor tracking and fairly nice-looking antialiasing too, so it seems to be fairly complex under the hood.

@smoldesu @frumble It is a virtual monitor, with all features of a physical external monitor.

@Natureshadow @smoldesu So you can dim the virtual monitor or change contrast?

@smoldesu Is it the normal Kwin Zoom effect since Plasma 4? Sounds exactly like that.

@frumble could be, I think it's new for the Wayland session though

could be wrong tho

@smoldesu @frumble
This is really cool. Spice protocol (used by QEMU/Libvirt) had this feature.
If it's Wayland feature, I hope it gets available for Swaywm too!

@Natureshadow @frumble Specifically talking about the zoom feature here :p

@smoldesu @frumble It’s the Zoom desktop effects (System Settings β†’ Workspace Behavior β†’ Desktop Effects β†’ Zoom). You’ll notice in the configuration dialog that you can also, by default, zoom in with Meta+= and zoom out with Meta+-

Maxi 9x πŸ’‰

@ariasuni @smoldesu So it’s just the normal Zoom effect since Plasma 4, now with native scroll wheel integration like Compiz had as early as 2007.

@frumble @smoldesu I think it was present all along, but Nate Graham (behind This week in KDE) talked about the fact he discovered the shorcut recently by accident and that it will be made more discoverable

@ariasuni @frumble @smoldesu What shortcut? That is simply the default screen share dialog when you use screen sharing anywhere (like here in BigBlueButton).

@ariasuni @smoldesu @frumble What the heck? This is totally unrelated. It is simply the default screen share dialog that is displayed when you start sharing your screen anywhere.
