Liaizon, hashtags need a working global search. Global anything is hard in a decentralized system. I'm not putting out a half-baked thing that only looks at locally available posts like Mastodon did.
@grishka@wakest I guess what I am asking is what *you* had in mind cause I assume it is indeed a feature you will end up implementing yourself regardless of how its done. I agree the way hashtags work now on the fediverse is frustratingly broken and I would love to see a direction taken to trying to mitigate this specific problem.
@liaizon@grishka@wakest You might need to pospone it for a while then. Unfortunately #Hash2Pub is on hold since last September because I am busy otherwise. Once I have my university degree and life has settled, I hope to be able to continue working on it as a side project though.
