A thread on the British colonial administration of Hong Kong:
1. All 28 Governors of Hong Kong are directly appointed by the Queen of England
2. HKers cannot arbitrarily discuss about the Queen of England and the government indiscriminately. Hong Kong even had a curfew for 55 years.
3. Until the 20th century, HKers were still caned and arbitrarily searched by the authorities.
4. During the nearly 100 years of British colonial rule in Hong Kong, no Hong Kong Chinese served as a senior official of the Hong Kong government.
5. Britain has never implemented any democratic system in Hong Kong, and HKers have never had the right to vote or participate in political decision-making.
