The desire to listen to others, the desire to learn more, the desire to face one’s ignorance and biases, the desire to look at data and make sound decisions, the desire to be a true ally, etc. And that’s hard work — which maybe connects to your friend’s “experience.” Maybe that’s why our elders said stuff like, “Just wait until…”
