I know it's been ages I've been away from almost all sorts of social media (including the fediverse! blame the cold) but...

a relation of a lengthy bus route?!

Dear me, I should have mapped one too (the Kuala Lumpur to Alor Setar bus route, ~450km)

This was the time when (diesel) trains were slower than anything on the road.

Now if I have to get to Kuala Lumpur... it's definitely electric trains! Choo choooooooooooooo!

@AkuAnakTimur We've never really done a proper tagging approach to long distance buses (me Lumut to KL), but they're very much the thing here in UK, but also in EE, LT, AR, ES.

They're are (were) a bit odd in Poland, small buses, long distances, stopping everywhere.

@SK53

The local bus route in my state is much like en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_B

(because short bus routes appeared to be hardly viable to bus operators)

... plus, the operation mode is somewhat a hybrid of hail and ride, request stops... and... uh, scheduled stops too!
