@simon_brooke that's true, however there is one very important benefit of indoor farming which is that it's done in climate controlled environment. As the climate crisis progresses, we'll start to see a lot of unpredictable weather events happening and this could significantly affect food production. If there's a heat wave for a couple of weeks that kills the crops then you have a famine on your hands. @yogthos Yes. You can produce food under much more controlled conditions, so you'll grow better crops faster and have some resilience against some natural disasters, but at high energy cost. Drought, however, will affect indoor farming almost as much as outdoor. |
