The slow unwinding of the social contract begins by targeting marginalized communities because right-wingers know most people won't stick their necks out to protect them and will rationalize to themselves why it's okay, actually, in the name of maintaining "order."

First they came for the Communists
And I did not s̶p̶e̶a̶k̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ do anything
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not s̶p̶e̶a̶k̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ do anything
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not s̶p̶e̶a̶k̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ do anything
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not s̶p̶e̶a̶k̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ do anything
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To s̶p̶e̶a̶k̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ do anything for me

@gwynnion Crossed out "speak out" because tons of people are SpEaKiNg OuT and are accomplishing a whole lot of bugger all. They want you to speak out, because the people most adamant on speaking out are the same people who will police real activists better than the ruling class ever could.

There is not a single major change that was brought about only by speaking out. Seriously, try to think of a single civil right that was spoken into fruition. Actions speak louder than words, take action.

@gwynnion Why is civil disobedience off the table when the social contract is being infringed upon? The whole point of a contract is that if one party doesn't perform to its terms, the other party is released of their obligations too. To say they're "not performing" is an understatement, they've taken a big ol' shit on it. Like, the social contract is already watered down to hell and back and even that's too much for them.
