Gregory's Server@Swede1952 I am totally happy with my Canon Powershot. I tried telescope routine and you really need one that rotates or follows celestial objects as the earth turns pretty dang fast. Below were handheld pictures (no tripod) using ISO 100, on average 1/500 shutter speed and F5.6.
Last 2 pictures are collages of lunar eclipse. These are much harder to capture and a tripod is a must. Tap/click pics if edges cut off.

Not to worry, when I mull something over it can be a very long time before I decide. Sometimes years 😅. I do okay with the moon. But I’ve seen some really detailed shots with telescope. I usually shoot off hand, but occasionally break out a tripod.
