@briellebouquet @eleeper the rest of the story as in... What happened when the second "offence" went to trial? Or did it somehow get ignored? Did this resolve her issue getting her gender put onto her driving license? Because it happened in 2011 it's reasonable to be able to answer these questions by now? @nicksalt @eleeper people ask that constantly as an excuse to justify bigotry to the point that it's a meme. ie, cops beat a POC to death on a traffic stop and someone comments "that's awful!!" and then a racist replies "well that POC might have been a gang member, id like to hear the rest of the story." that's what this was. an attempt to blame this woman for not being able to get an ID. or an attempt to paint her as the villain by inventing ambiguity where there is none @eleeper @georgetakei @eleeper |
@eleeper stale news? states, more and more, are making it impossible to change gender on state ID. the feds aren't helping. it happened a long time ago but it's 10x worse now, so i'd argue it's still quite relevant
furthermore, fuck you. there is no "rest of the story" and it's disgusting of you to imply this is somehow her fault.
trans ppl are denied ID changes to match their sex and gender all over the world every single day. you want the rest of the story, ask literally any trans person.
