@Saerise @georgetakei This happened in 2011, so maybe it isn't still a thing there?

@Normdeplume @Saerise @georgetakei Sadly, @Normdeplume, despite losing a few court cases, Tennessee has only become more determined to oppress trans & other LGBTQ people. @Frances_Larina @Saerise @georgetakei yeah, that was wishful thinking on my part. I live in a land of high taxes, stupid weather, and fairly solid rights. It's disheartening to think about how fellow Americans are having to live. 😢 @Normdeplume @Saerise @georgetakei I'm in California and compared to a state like Tennessee, it's like two different nations. The values expressed by our laws are so radically different. @Normdeplume @Saerise @georgetakei i was confused so i looked it up. it would appear tennessee law changed since 2011. the 2010 code, exposing female breasts was considered indecent exposure - but in the current version of tennessee law it is only indecent exposure if done intentionally in front of a child and not for the purposes of breastfeeding. so i guess they fixed it? @bri_seven @Normdeplume @Saerise @georgetakei The most heoric allies post alarming news stories from a decade ago, without mentioning the timing, so people think their rights are worse off than they actually are. And who needs CWs when the audience that matters is the cis hets? @celesteh @bri_seven @Normdeplume @Saerise @georgetakei Arguably on considereble counts human rights are in fact worse of than a decade ago.. @celesteh also, yeah. cws are to protect minorities, not the Cream of the Crop who have had the entire society catered to their delicate cis male sensibilities throughout US, and most human history. as the kids say, "learn to sit with your discomfort." 😊 @bri_seven @Normdeplume @Saerise @georgetakei @bri_seven @bri_seven |
