What does automation have to do with capitalism? What does automation look like under communism, fascism, etc.?

Automation has always been about reducing human labor. Human wants and desires are infinite, people will always find a way to earn a living if they don’t want to die. New industries and jobs will arise just as they always have.

Perhaps those whose job is affected should learn to code or coal mine.

@Chimi_Chuang_Tzu the economic system has everything to do with how automation is used because that's what decides towards what purpose labour and resources are allocated.

Under capitalism, the means of production are owned by capitalists and the primary purpose of work is to create capital with all else being secondary.

Under communism the purpose of work is to produce the thing people need to live, to improve the quality of life. Technology is used to reduce necessary labour.

@Chimi_Chuang_Tzu it's incredibly myopic to say that people affected by automation should just find new ways to be exploited

Communism is failed idea that looks good on paper. It doesn't matter what or how you implement it as it flies in the face of human behavior.

There is nothing myopic about it.
This is, has been, and will continue to be the reality of life. You're not owed a job, income, or happiness. Its on you to create that for your self. Competition is the natural order.

If you feel exploited then git gud my dude.

@Chimi_Chuang_Tzu that's an incredibly ignorant statement to make. China in particular is a great example of just how phenomenally absurd your claim is.

Meanwhile, if human behavior tends towards negative tendencies like greed, then it's an argument against capitalism as opposed to for it. We should be creating systems that inhibit negative tendencies instead of encouraging them.

The reality of life is that capitalism is failing across the world. Anybody with a functioning brain can see that.
