@cell @henkery @SuperDicq @thor Without knowing much anything about the SEA region's history, I can only guess that the success of Hololive ID means that there's no open animosity at the very least. The CN branch didn't turn out so well, I'm afraid.

I've talked quite a bit with one Indonesian chap online and it seems like a very modern culture with the architecture being very distinctly inspired by India and India accessories.

@moth_ball @cell @henkery @thor I don’t know if the success of vtubers is a useful metric to measure international relations but I like this take nonetheless.

@SuperDicq @cell @henkery @thor When you think of it as a foreign country specifically naming your country and marketing their culture to you, it wouldn't be very plausible if there's a lot of hate towards them in your country.

It's not a metric by any means but does at least confirm the existence of a large weeb community, as Cell said.

@moth_ball @cell @henkery @thor Yeah true, I like HoloID tho. Before HoloEN was a thing they were the only ones who could speak English.

I wonder if they are gonna come with more spinoffs in other languages as well. But I think HoloNL is never gonna happen. Not that I would want that tho, it sounds like a horrible idea.
