I spoke with JSAUX behind the scenes, and this is one part of the result. They agreed with me on many things, and I'm pleased they took my advice on this and other things being improved. Good stuff.

Image statement taken from their Twitter.

"Dear JSAUX fans,
Last week, we retweeted a tweet from steamdeck.info where they announced a partnership with us. Later on we realized that they were taking part in what we considered unethical practices, so we decided to delete our retweet. Now, there's nothing we can say about it except a "sorry".
Due to an honest mistake, we skipped a key step of our internal protocols, which is learning more about our potential partners and what Steam Deck users think about them. We accepted their proposal to join our affiliate program even before checking what kind of website they ran.
We've heard you and we understand that deleting our RT without explaining what was going on was a second mistake - so we're here to present not excuses, but our most sincere apologies. We'll do better in the future, and will be extra careful when signing partnership with any third parties.
JSAUX
Thanks for your understanding"

@gamingonlinux actual owning up to mistakes is a rare sight from companies, seeing something like this actually makes me more likely to buy from them

@EeveeEuphoria It took a bit of pushing, more than I would have liked, but they got there in the end.

@gamingonlinux

I'm out of the loop, what are they referring to by "unethical practices?" Google isn't showing anything useful in results.

For those not up to date, they partnered with a store that was selling steam accounts, steam gifts and more that would get people banned from Steam.

@gamingonlinux I guess your video on the topic is still blocked on that one famous video hosting site?

Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

@soulsource Yup, but not by JSAUX, it was blocked by the scam store.

@gamingonlinux I didn't realize that one could misunderstand my post. But yeah, if one doesn't know the backstory, it could have sounded like I blamed JSAUX.

Sorry about that.

I'm not sure I trust them yet, but after watching your video it's at least a good step in the right direction, to few companies are willing to admit to mistakes, even with people trying to get them to as long as you have been

I'm not about to rush out and buy stuff from them, but if enough time passes without incedent I will at least be open to it
