Americans will really do anything to avoid using the metric system.

@drmaddkap what type of penguins? Or is it the Penguin of Batman fame? Then again, which Penguin? Danny DeVito or Burgess Meredith?
So many questions!
I forgot about Waddle from the NFL and the running Penguin.

@drmaddkap Poor penguins... just trying to live their life. Can't catch a break. ๐Ÿ˜ถ

@drmaddkap @alexwild

Or โ€œXโ€ number of football fields long.

Abyssal Rook

@drmaddkap To be fair I can picture exactly how big that asteroid is.

@drmaddkap US metric system hurts my sense of measurement as big as 5 horizontal pandas or 4 vertical giraffes

@drmaddkap Shouldn't have based the length of a meter on the height of a penguin. We don't have penguins in America. How were we ever going to find this intuitive? Instead we have the foot and my feet are exactly 1 foot (12 inches) long which is why it's intuitive. What isn't intuitive is that I wear a size 10.5 shoe. How is my 1 foot foot a size 10.5? This makes no sense.

@drmaddkap It'd be fun to start describing things as the length of a futbol field, just to mess with the idiom.

Laces

@drmaddkap Are we talking flipper to flipper or mushed together shoulder to shoulder? So many questions.

@drmaddkap We can't go to the metric system because the km numbers on our speedometers are tiny. And, sadly, the number 32 would be meaningless and 0 means no temperature at all (!). Brrrrrrrr. It's actually COLDER in metrics!

Probably Paul ๐ŸŒ

@drmaddkap Yeesh, laid end-to-end that's about 18 otters.

@drmaddkap I don't understand the unit, surely 22 penguins is about the size of one seal?

I guess it depends which species you're talking about though, and how old they are.
