@gamingonlinux Dwarf Fortress unfortunately without Linux or MacOS support.

The Slight Misgivings

@gamingonlinux Metal Hellsinger, followed by The Excavation of Hob's Barrow. Scorn third.

DELETED

@gamingonlinux the pc port of Monster Hunter Rise
The switch port was my favorite 2021 release also ๐Ÿ˜

@gamingonlinux Signalis. I might have spent 25x as long in Elden Ring, but it's not the one occupying thoughts at random hours.

@gamingonlinux TUNIC! More people need to play TUNIC but do not look up anything about the game beforehand. Just go play it, it's wonderful.

Sire of Swamp Dragons

@gamingonlinux Another vote for Vampire Survivors. I actually discovered it through GoL, but I am not sure whether I should thank you or ๐Ÿง„ you. Both me and my son are slightly addicted.

@gamingonlinux maybe Victoria 3 or Old World. Were there even any other game releases the whole year? Oh Total Warhammer 3. So I really liked all the 3 game releases of the year.

@gamingonlinux Hardspace Shipbreaker. Perfect dad game.

I use :vim:

@gamingonlinux gotta be Elden Ring. The only other From Soft game I really played was Bloodborn, but I was never able to make much progress through it despite putting significant time into it. Elden Ring is difficult but itโ€™s also their most approachable. Every time I pick it up, every discovery feels novel. The game rewards creativity and lets you do things the way that you want.

It had dethroned my previous top single player game of all time, Half-life 2. Itโ€™s a good game. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

@gamingonlinux I generally don't play them the year of release. Too much backlog. I suppose #Mojotron: Robot Wars counts since it was first released last year so I guess that would be it.

@gamingonlinux Vampire Survivorsโ€ฆ surprisingly addictive ๐Ÿ˜…

Antero Hytรถnen

@gamingonlinux hard to pick one, but it could be one of these:
Save Room - relatively short, but it somehow managed to make inventory management fun

Return to Monkey Island - while not perfect, does have have some Ron Gilbert feel on it

Stray - I don't remember playing game where so much attention has been given on being able to do cat things. If you stick with to the end, there's blend of several different game genres in there
