pine "two cats" trees

i went to bloomington today and the number of porkchop intersections is just. like. wow. did their road engineers have a porkchop fetish or what is the actual deal

(porkchop intersections are when there's a piece of sidewalk kind of shaped like the cut of meat called a porkchop between some of the parts of the car roads. they're really hostile and isolating to use for pedestrians and increase car travel speeds through turns.) they look like this

@t54r4n1 what's really really weird to me is the right turn on red. it's incredible that you can turn right, whether slip lane or pork chop or just a normal lights, even when your lane is red and the pedestrians lights are green. it's just get-hit-by-a-car bingo

@library_squirrel yeah it assumes the number/value of pedestrians crossing the area is so low as to be approaching zero
