  @jessamyn My wife and I were just having a long conversation about the current and future value of 1,000s upon 1,000s of photos she inherited from her parents (many complete unlabeled) and somewhat fewer my still-sharp dad gave me (I had a bunch scanned and he's annotating them). It’s a hard thing to toss personal history, but when it’s 2+ generations back…though I favor scanning & ultimately AI-face recognition based on IDing some people in captions. @glennf My dad scanned a ton of his old slides and put the digital images on Flickr. They're low res but we tagged them and sorted them and I refer to them ALL the time and I'm so happy we did. I think it's different if you have kids, maybe. This is mostly a memory tool for me and my sister. |
