This year I wrote, edited, designed, and self-published two chapbooks of poetry. They’re very different in inspiration and tone, but I’m pleased with how both turned out.
You can buy both of them at Portland’s own queer-owned bookstore, Bishop & Wilde: https://www.shopbishopandwilde.com/used-books/genre/zines
“Schatzi” is unapologetically romantic and what happens when I get a crush on someone who isn’t interested (apparently). Lines from this collection have been used successfully by others when chatting on dating apps — probably the finest outcome possible for modern love poetry.
“Patience” is my perspective on being a front-line medical worker throughout 2020. I’ve been told by some other people in healthcare it accurately captures that feeling for them too, but I’m not speaking for anyone else.
