@EposVox I'd buy two of them. It looks absolutely beautiful.

@EposVox I wanna see this in action, whatโ€™s the refresh like I wonder ๐Ÿค”

@EposVox @aradiogurl I knew Calhoun when I was at Apple, so it was neat to see his original writeup at engineersneedart.com/systemsix and poke around.

To be clear, itโ€™s not an emulator, just a static display that changes once per day. That said, itโ€™s pretty dang neat, and if anyone wants to buy me a Christmas present, this would be a swell one!

And thanks for posting the link that led me back to John. Fond memories.

@EposVox I would love to see something like this with an emulator.

Or even better: with a custom reimplementation of the original hardware. I've been thinking a lot about the Atari Flashback 2 lately...

@robert_said_what @EposVox I just bought a C64 (2021 repro with USB and HDMI) - what does that say about me? ๐Ÿ˜€

@angiebaby @EposVox I saw that and thought oh goodness I remember using the macintoshes in school

@EposVox so rarely
is something so New conceptually
and so
heart poundingly cool ~

@EposVox oh, so that's why Raspberry Pis are so expensive now.

@EposVox I'm not too fussed about this, I'm more worried about the wastage of computers on crappy operating systems from 30 years ago, and don't even get me started on the e-ink display. A Pi 3 being used on this gizmo is just a shame.

Weyoun Dax

@EposVox no, I'm annoyed at the use of it here.

@weyoundax itโ€™s a cool project! Wish it was running an actual emulator than basically a photo frame but
