While it’s obviously great and transformative, it’s such a miss that it stops at 57th Street, just missing the massive crowds at Bergdorf Goodman’s holiday windows.

On the southern end, even when the open streets end, the crowd is still strong. There is clearly demand for more.

There’s also this weird buffer zone between 56th and 57th Streets where cars are prohibited, but is also hostile to pedestrians. I guess the former president still needs protection for his property courtesy of the NYPD. 🙄

@sunny I think that's more a function of how temporary the closure is. Because they're using trucks instead of more-permanent fixtures, you end up with a weird mishmash of protective features.
