@Gargron Well, I don't know about "outdated", but it's the same version numbering as every other OS. My problem is that the version of Firefox I'm running on my MacBook Pro loads Mastodon just fine until every once in a while, it gags and coughs up the error. Perhaps you have a bug in your code, as the message says. The "report" link taking me to GitHub means absolute zero to me, as I'm not a programmer. @Gargron For the record, I'm posting this now from Firefox 87 on my MB Air running OSX 10.12.4 "Sierra". Still doesn't explain why Mastodon runs fine under Firefox 48 under OSX 10.8.5 "Mountain Lion" except when it chokes at random when loading Mastodon every few months or so. @flugennock Well, it's not like an app is either entirely compatible or entirely incompatible with a browser. Incompatible means it works until it encounters some unsupported function and then crashes. @Gargron Well, Firefox 48 didn't exactly crash as such — it just coughed up that message after I logged in and refused to load the page. @Gargron I actually updated fairly regularly until Firefox went on that rapid-fire update binge a few years back. When Firefox started pestering me to update every other day, I decided "screw it, enough of this". |
@flugennock Latest Firefox is 87, is yours outdated or does it use a different versioning system on Mac?
