AI doing art has always been a technological inevitability, much like factories (and then even small workshops) going from manual labour to machines. If you're gonna protest what's inevitable, be my guest, but existence of a machine is in no way taking your talent or ability in manual labour away.
The real source of the problem is not the technology. It's the fact that the current system forces you to "earn" your living. And you can't do if you're up against any sort of automation. Which is, again, inevitable.
So, in my opinion, that "NoAI" hysteria is a little bit misguided at best.
You don't have a problem with AI.
You actually have a problem with capitalism.
@drq This is a very good point. In a sane world, artists would be highly valued and sponsored-because their contribution to culture is necessary.
A lot of the AI art I have seen is very interesting and thought-provoking. I’d hate to see it repressed.
