@gamingonlinux I got it running with my 6900 XT at 1080p with reasonable performance but it has a LOT of visual artifacts.

@gamingonlinux While the game is free, you need a nearly $2,000 video card to play it...

CodexNotFound

@toallpointswest @gamingonlinux i believe any RTX card can run this. An RTX 2060 only costs 250-300 euros at the moment.

@CodexNotFound @gamingonlinux Yes, any RTX card will do it, but in order to actually run it well you need like a 4080 or 4090

@gamingonlinux I can't install it. I don't know if that's because of Linux or because I have and AMD GPU

@gamingonlinux I can't seem to find any information on whether this will work with RTX on the Steam Deck. Any clue?

@benpocalypse @gamingonlinux Digital Foundry got ray tracing working in a number of games, some of them even performed decently at reduced resolutions, but they had to install Windows to get it working.

You'd likely have to REALLY crush the resolution for Portal RTX though. The only other path traced game they tested was Quake 2 RTX, which they had to drop to 252p resolution to get to 60fps.

Doesn't really sound worth the effort.

@slemhundy @gamingonlinux Oh well. A boy can dream.

Thanks for the detailed info!

@gamingonlinux
I don't know why, but it is the most expensive free game I ever saw !
