Gregory's Serversee i think it’s pretty wild that there is a holiday that celebrates white people dunning-kruegering themselves into starvation and then getting bailed out. it’s like, the most white thing ever really.

what actually happened: some Wampanoag leader: “well fuck, i guess we can’t let them starve, let’s go give them some of our reserves” how the story is told: “the LORD acting THROUGH the Wampanoag brought the blessings of the bounty of the harvest, saving the Pilgrims” and this is a prime example of how God is used to perpetuate white supremacy. any acts of kindness by “savages” and “heathens” get attributed as a celestial intervention, as if they couldn’t act with kindness on their own. |
and then there’s a religious angle to it?! as if God made the Wampanoags bail them out?
