Someone made the nurses at one of the Covid-heavy hospitals custom stickers. This is the kind of thing that if they put it in a movie I’d be like “that seems a bit much”

I also haven’t updated this thread very much recently because at the end of February I quit my job, so I haven’t been getting paid to be an EMT. I still volunteer and do community stuff, but far fewer hospital shenanigans. I’m thinking about nursing school, but honestly right now my brain still needs several months more of a break. I’ve written a zine of poems about my experiences working as an EMT throughout 2020. If that sounds interesting to you, you can buy it from Portland’s queer-owned bookstore, Bishop & Wilde: https://www.shopbishopandwilde.com/zines/patience-courtney-stanton Thanks for reading 📖 |
I’m volunteering today at one of the local vaccination mega sites aka the airport. It’s my understanding I’ll be one of the people actually drawing the vaccine and putting shots into arms, which is very exciting for me because I am 100% doing this for selfish reasons, namely: I need to do some community health services that are not “tend to people who are most likely going to die within 2-4 weeks”, which has been...the vibe for the last year.
